mustard and Coronavirus (COVID-19)

These are unprecedented times and as with many businesses we will be finding the new, hopefully short term, normal in terms of working arrangements for our employees.

From today all the employees in all our offices will all be working from home and following government advice. As with many businesses we have made considerable investment into our cloud based systems over the last few years. All the employee’s work from laptops with the latest telephone software, CRM databases are all cloud based and all internal communication is conducted on Microsoft Teams.

A lot of our staff have had this increased flexibility for many years so it will be interesting to see the whole business adopt this strategy for what will hopefully be a short period of time.

Our team in Hong Kong has been working from home since early/mid January so we will certainly be looking to them for advice.

With that in mind all consultants will be available on their direct dials, operating as normal and available to chat to you whatever your requirements.

Clients: We recognise your hiring plans might have gone on hold in the short term but you can use this time to get ahead of the curve for when business returns. Lay some groundwork, what do you want your team to look like in 3 or 6 months. Solid conversations or video interviews with candidates now that might not be available at that point could position you well. Deferred start dates, remote working, increased use of freelancers etc all of these are conversations that are possible across the industry right now that just weren’t 2 weeks ago.

Candidates: If you are serious about finding a new role use this time wisely. A common excuse we hear is not having the time to update your portfolio or CV, get this done now and engage with us about look and feel. We are also available to talk strategy with you and give insight into the market. As a compliant recruiter there is a minimum amount of information we need to collect from you to be fully live and ready to go with our recruiters. Let’s get this in place now so there are no delays in getting you back to work.

It would be great to say it’s “business as usual” but it isn’t is it, it doesn’t feel like that and we offer a virtual fist pump or elbow bump to any business or individual going through the mill at the moment.

Stay safe (with clean hands) and we’ll come out of this the other side stronger.
