At mustard, we love to talk. Especially when it comes to sharing the latest thinking
on working trends across global industry. Here’s what we’ve been saying recently…

Our Christmas Present to you...

Our Christmas Present to you...

This year at mustard we have shunned the normal approach to Christmas. No cards posted or digital, no Christmas videos, no cheap bottles of wine (well maybe a few) … we have taken a leaf out of some of our more creative client’s book and gone for the full experience approach.

Mustard gave 7 staff from the Bristol office a chance to do a bit for community spirit and spread a bit of Christmas cheer. On Friday 7th December they spent the day at Henbury and Brentry Community Centre to help support and set up a Christmas meal for local residents who live in isolation.

It was a fantastic spread, lots of amazing people, fascinating stories and excellent conversation. Topped off with a special performance from local artist ‘Polly Morphic’ who sung Music Hall classics and had everyone tapping their feet and singing along.

In addition to some food, we were also lucky to pass out raffle prizes to all the guests, and we won some of our own too!

At the end of 2018, a year in which unfortunately the divide between youth and the elderly has significantly widened in politics and culture across the country, it was great to do our bit not only for the benefit of the local community, but to engage across generations.

Many of the guests and many elderly people around the country suffer from loneliness at this time of year, and we were really honoured to unify everyone for a lovely afternoon and make it a festive period to remember. There was even talk of a re-run next year – fingers crossed!

Our sincere thanks go to Bristol Charities (https://www.bristolcharities.org.uk/), who do great work across the City and we were pleased to be able to give them our time. The meal was funded largely by the John James Bristol Foundation (http://www.johnjames.org.uk/) to whom we were grateful to help and of course the local volunteers and guests at Henbury and Brentry Community Centre who were a genuine inspiration to us.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Heading North?

Heading North...

I recently wrote a short blog about relocating out of London - (https://www.mustardjobs.co.uk/post/661/Is-it-time-to-say-goodbye-to-the-Big-Smoke-/) and with our capital city losing an average of 3 people a day to Greater Manchester, it’s time to shine a spotlight on the North West. But what is all the fuss about? Surely.........
