Salary Guide ID 2020

15-Sep-20

We are pleased to release the salary guide from our mustard ID division.

As with all of the salary guides we have released the timing has been a little strange to say the least. We started pulling together these guides together in a pre-pandemic world when there was a little more stability in the job market. It was certainly a world where candidates called the shots a little more with lower unemployment levels and most companies considering growth of some sort.

Now we are in a situation where the search for a new vacancy becomes a little tougher for candidates and the clients now have all the control. What impact this will have on salaries we are yet to see, it is likely to be downward pressure, but we haven’t seen that just yet. The issues at the moment really are around the volume of live jobs and not with clients refusing to pay market rate salaries.

With the project types of interior design requiring such different skill sets, we have always structured our teams like this in mustard ID. We have specialist consultants that work across office interiors and workplace, retail agencies and in house brands, hospitality and food and beverage, and finally residential design.

We have mirrored this in the salary survey so that you can use it to really get a picture of where either you should be when looking to negotiate your salary with your current employer; target your approach to any potential new employer or indeed from the client side benchmark where your current and new employees should sit with their salaries.

The mustard ID salary guide can be downloaded here:
