Event Careers Live 2020

28-Jan-20

On Friday the 24th of January 2020, Mustard XP made the trip up to Banking Hall in London, to attend the very first https://eventcareerslive.com/ exhibition. Jamie Rogers, Josh Howell and myself spent the day sharing advice for both under-graduates and post-graduates, along with connecting with senior event professionals looking for work and catching up with the industry’s leading businesses. Those included Ashfield Meetings and Events, GES, TCEG and BCD Events to name a few.

Thank you to all those that came over and had a chat with us during the day. Along with our key insights into the world of events, exhibitions, conferences and experiential, I think our hamper competition was also a key factor! We will be announcing the winner shortly!

We attended the show to connect with the next generation of event professionals but to also get out there and be face to face with the market. The industry standards are rising, pitching for projects is more competitive than ever and the need for young blood coming through is essential to the industries success moving forward. With the variety of paths available within events, this was a great way to help share ideas and information on how to get there.

As helpful as our advice and insight is to those looking for work, Event Careers Live included a variety of talks throughout the day that were led by industry leaders across Production, Client Services, Design and Sales. Seminars, camp fire sessions and the opportunity to meet the experts should hopefully give those that attended a clearer vision about what roles there are in the events industry and what paths are open to them.

So if you are an Event Manager, Operations Manager, Account Manager, Production Manager, Project Manager, 3D designer, Graphic Designer or Sales person. Be sure to follow us on the usual channels and look forward to working with you all in future. You can easily register your CV here https://www.mustardjobs.co.uk/register/

Lastly, thanks to those at Mash Media for putting on the event. May it be the first of many of its type in the UK. We need more talent coming through to help support one of the UK’s greatest assets, highly creative and engaging experiences for global brands!

Heading North?

Heading North...

I recently wrote a short blog about relocating out of London - (https://www.mustardjobs.co.uk/post/661/Is-it-time-to-say-goodbye-to-the-Big-Smoke-/) and with our capital city losing an average of 3 people a day to Greater Manchester, it’s time to shine a spotlight on the North West. But what is all the fuss about? Surely.........
